WTA Madrid: Tatjana Maria safe in round two
Wimbledon semi-finalist Tatjana Maria easily reached the second round of the WTA tournament in Madrid.

The 35-year-old from Bad Saulgau, who was eliminated in the round of 16 at the home game in Stuttgart last week, defeated Alexandra Eala (Philippines), who is 201 places lower in the world rankings, in 70 minutes 6-1, 6-1.
In the second round, Maria, who already celebrated a tournament victory on clay in Bogota at the beginning of April, will face the American Bernarda Pera. Jule Niemeier (Dortmund) had already cleared her first hurdle on Tuesday, on Wednesday Laura Siegemund (Metzingen) is still fighting against Nadia Podoroska from Argentina for a place in the second round.
