WTA Miami: Elena Rybakina first finalist after defeating Victoria Azarenka

Elena Rybakina became the first player to reach the final at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami. The world number four beat Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals 6:4, 0:6 and 7:6 (2). This means that the 2022 Wimbledon winner will be playing in a final for the fourth time in the current calendar year.
Curious: Rybakina only won five (!) points in the entire second round. In the deciding set, the Kazakh then managed the first break to make it 3-2, and Azarenka hit back at the last moment to make it 5-5. However, Rybakina didn't let anything go wrong in the tiebreak.

Rybakina will approach the final on Saturday as the favorite at best. The 24-year-old will face the winner of the game between Ekaterina Alexandrova and Danielle Collins.
