Swiatek won against Cori Gauff 6: 3, 6: 1 and only had problems at the beginning. Five games went over the debut in the first set - not a single one in the second set. Impressive: Swiatek only lost nine games in their three Miami matches!

Will she get more resistance now? The round of the last eight will see the resurgent Petra Kvitova, who seems to be on the mend after a poor start to the season.

Also Belinda Bencic further

Paula Badosa ended Linda Fruhvirtova's fairy tale for the time being, winning against the 16-year-old 6-2, 6-3. Fruhvirtova will still crack the top 200 in the world for the first time next week. Badosa now meets Jessica Pegula.

Belinda Bencic was also strong and only allowed a little in the 6: 2, 6: 3 against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. She now meets Daria Saville (from 6 p.m. CEST), also one of the players of the last few weeks. Saville, formerly Gavrilova, has been injured for a long time and has played well in recent times.

Naomi Osaka had already won against Alison Riske in the evening , she now (also today) meets Danielle Collins.
