And Serena is currently the only one: The American has earned 93,634,967 US dollars in the course of her career - on the pitch, mind you. Outside of this, the income should be many times higher.
In terms of prize money, however, Williams leads by a long way, with sister Venus Williams following in second place with almost half, the now 40-year-old has earned 41,958,284 US dollars in almost 25 years of professional tennis.
And Maria Sharapova in third place? Earned 38,777,962 US dollars on the court - but it is quite possible that "Masha" is the leader in the overall picture: According to the annual Forbes lists, she has long been the best-earned tennis player, thanks to her advertising partners around Porsche, Nike and Co.
Oh yes, and Steffi Graf, after all, 22 Grand Slam titles difficult? Is listed in 14th place at $ 21,895,277, ahead of Martina Navratilova. Here, too, it becomes clear how much the prize money has developed in recent years.
