WTA Montreal: Camila Giorgi reaches the biggest final of her career
The Italian Camila Giorgi is playing the week of her life in Montreal - and is in the final of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time.

The world rankings-71. beat the American Jessica Pegula 6: 3, 6: 3, 6: 1 in the semifinals and meets Karolina Pliskova in the final .
Giorgi continued her great week: She had already defeated the top 25 players Elise Meters, Petra Kvitova and Coco Gauff in the course of the tournament.
Against Pegula, Giorgi beat 27 winners and made fewer mistakes than Pegula. "I now know better which strokes to choose," revealed Giorgi afterwards . "And when do I have to go down a bit. There is more variation in my game I think that is very important." Giorgi is known for her all-or-nothing game.
The 29-year-old is playing for her third career title against Pliskova.
In a direct comparison, the Czech leads 5: 3. However, Giorgi won the last two matches, in Eastbourne and at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
