Emma Raducanu had to give up due to injury at the grass tournament in Nottingham

After retiring from the WTA tournament in Nottingham due to injury, US Open winner Emma Raducanu put a question mark over her participation in Wimbledon. The 19-year-old Brit said she had "no idea" if she would be fit for the peak of the grass season in London (June 27-July 10).

Raducanu took a medical break in the early stages of their first-round match against Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland. She was treated on her left side and took painkillers, retiring after 33 minutes with the score 3-4 in the first set.

No consistency since US Open triumph

"I have to have a scan done first. Then we'll see how it goes," explained the world number eleven: "It could just have cramped and then it's really bad for a few days. I can't diagnose myself."

It was already Raducanu's third task since her US Open coup last September. Exactly one year ago she made her debut on the WTA Tour in Nottingham, she has not won more than two matches in a tournament since her remarkable journey from the qualifying round to the title in New York.

Here is the individual tableau from Nottingham.
