Sabalenka beat compatriot Victoria Azarenka 6: 2, 6: 2 after just over an hour of play.
The 22-year-old dominated with forehand and serve - she got 77 percent of the points when the first service came, with Azarenka it was only 48 percent. "Vika" was also bruised, she had to have her neck treated in the meantime. Azarenka had previously won 15 of the last 16 hard court matches.
"She moved me very well in the first five or six games, it was very close," said Sabalenka after the game.
Sabalenka with a chance of a double pack
Sabalenka celebrated her second tournament victory this year, in February she triumphed in Doha.
And obviously warmed up well before the final: In the quarter-finals against Sara Sorribes Tormo, Sabalenka was 0: 6, 0: 4 behind and thus close to the end before she played and won twelve games in a row.
In Ostarava, the day is not over for her: She is also in the final in doubles, here she meets Gaby Dabrowski / Luisa Stefani with partner Elise Mertens. She had already won the US Open with Mertens in 2019.
