WTA Prague: Sinja Kraus slips into the main draw as a lucky loser

After Linz last year, Sinja Kraus is in the main draw of a WTA tour event for the second time in her career at the hard court event in Prague.

Sinja Kraus is the lucky loser in the main draw in Prague

Sinja Kraus is currently - after Julia Grabher - the second best Austrian tennis lady. She is currently at position 212 in the WTA rankings and at the age of 20, the Viennese still has practically the entire tennis world open to her. Now she benefited from the lucky loser regulation at the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Prague. After local heroine Petra Kvitova had to withdraw from the competition at short notice, the East Austrian follows.

After a first-round win against Tereza Smitkova from the Czech Republic, Kraus lost 2: 6, 2: 6 to the Russian Anastasia Zakharova in the preliminary round, but after taking part in the home tournament in Linz last year, she is now allowed to play for the second time in her young career attend a WTA Tour event. Kraus will face eight seeded local hero Marie Bouzkova on Monday at 11:00 a.m. on Center Court.

The top seed in the golden city is Anett Kontaveit from Estonia ahead of the Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
