Jelena Ostapenko is in the semifinals of the combined event in Rome

My dear colleague Jens Huiber found out a few days ago - if Jelena Ostapenko feels something, then something is going on. And the Latvian should have captured the feeling for her own game better than she had in a long time at the WTA Tour 1000 tournament in Rome. Because the twentieth seeding list is in the deserved semifinals after a three-set win over the Spaniard Paula Badosa. Ostapenko prevailed after 1:47 hours 6:2, 4:6, 6:3.

Who the Baltic will meet in the semifinals will be revealed in the last quarterfinals of the day between tournament favorite Iga Swiatek and seventh-seeded Kazakh Elena Rybakina.

Further information follows.

Here the single tableau from Rome.
