Next milestone for Emma Raducanu : The 19-year-old Brit is one of the ten best tennis players in the world for the first time this Monday. The reigning US Open winner improved by one position in the world rankings and is currently in tenth place.
The ranking is still led by Iga Swiatek. The advantage of the Pole over her first pursuer Anett Kontaveit is more than 4000 points, followed by Maria Sakkari and Paula Badosa in third and fourth place. Meanwhile, Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur fell three positions to fifth place.
Rybakina missed leap forward
Wimbledon had decided to expel all players from Russia and Belarus because of the war of aggression against Ukraine. The professional associations ATP and WTA then withdrew the status of world ranking relevance from the classic. Jabeur thus lost 430 points for their place in the quarterfinals last year.
For this reason, Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina remains in world number 23. Furthermore, semi-finalist Tatjana Maria (98th) and quarter-finalist Jule Niemeier (109th) could not benefit from their good performances in south-west London.
